Throwback Thursday: Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior
With this week’s release of Mad Max: Fury Road, I thought it might be a good time to take a look back at the second, and most well-remembered film in the series; Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.
Mad Max was a huge success for George Miller and his star Mel Gibson and they revisited the character with a much larger budget and with a story that guaranteed to amaze audiences once again with car chases and stunts that would cause Evel Knievel to piss in his pants. The world had somehow gotten even worse since the first installment and aside from his pup and his little feral boomerang-wielding friend, Max finds himself alone and facing off with a new gang of leather-bound raiders. Miller and Gibson had effectively created a character that while Australian still resonated with fans around the world due to his single-minded attempt to survive amidst a truly fudged up world.
I hope you all check out the newest Mad Max in theaters now, as it looks to be absolutely bat-shit crazy! Peep these photos from behind the scenes of Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.
