Scene of the Week: Best. Splits. Ever.
On July 26th, 1943 future director Peter Hyams was born in New York City.
Hyams directed The Presidio starring Sean Connery and Mark Harmon. He was also at the helm for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1999 film, End of Days. But he may be most known for his frequent collaborations with Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Hyams has directed three Van Damme films over the course of his career. They include the underrated Sudden Death, Enemies Closer (which in my opinion is the best of the modern era JCVD movies) and the subject of this week’s Scene of the Week, Timecop.
For those of you not familiar with Timecop, feel free to check out my review of the film by clicking here.
For everyone else, this week’s Scene of the Week captures what may be Van Damme’s best splits ever in this fight scene where a couple of goons hired by the evil Senator McComb break into our hero Max Walker’s apartment looking to eliminate him… what follows is some classic Van Damme action. Please note that James Lew is in this scene along with Van Damme and if there’s anybody on this site who has received more coverage than JCVD it would, for some strange reason, be James Lew.
