Woman Crush Wednesday: Summer Glau
Summer Glau has been a part of several television shows which got the big ugly ax before really hitting their stride. Alphas, The Cape, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Firefly, and The 4400. Some of these were much better than others on that list. Firefly was the bomb but The Cape was a steaming pile of shit. Terminator was pretty cool but I can’t say that I’ve ever seen an episode of Alphas or The 4400. No matter which of these shows you’ve watched in the past, the fact remains that seeing Summer on screen is something that nerds and non-nerds crave just the same.
Summer hasn’t exactly torn up the box office when it comes to film roles but Serenity was a fun edition to the Firefly legacy and I really enjoyed Knights of Badassdom. To me, Glau is like an adult version of Winnie Cooper. I really want to write her heart-felt poetry, lay it at her doorstep, and patiently wait outside her home to serenade her with a sweet song. The other part of me wants to punch that creepy bitch version of myself in the face and pop my shirt off in front of her and flex till my veins pop. Then we’ll probably make out for 30 minutes like a couple of junior high kids.
Recently Summer has appeared in a dramatic series called Sequestered that I’ve heard good things about but the most recent show that I’ve seen her in was when she was on Arrow for several episodes. Arrow is a pretty kickass show and I encourage Summer to continue to pump out as much material as possible because if I know anything at all, it is that her fan base will watch absolutely anything she does.
