Scene of the Week: Sorbo Gets Booned!
In the early days of his career, Kevin Sorbo, like many Hollywood hopefuls, found himself doing what he had to do to get his name and face out there. Whether it was playing bit parts on television shows, doing some print ads or starring in numerous commercials, Sorbo was putting in the hard work it takes to become a star.
In 1994 Sorbo’s hard work paid off when he landed the role of a lifetime. Sorbo was cast as Hercules in a series of made for television movies that MCA was producing for a syndicated package known as the Action Pack. Sorbo’s first turn as Hercules was in the movie Hercules and the Amazon Women. Four more made for TV movies followed. The success of the movies spawned a weekly series known as Hercules: The Legendary Journeys starring Sorbo. The show ran for six seasons.
After Hercules ended its run, Sorbo landed another TV gig on the series Andromeda and starred in a couple of direct to video movies based on the Joe Don Baker classic Walking Tall. But what has Kevin Sorbo been up to lately?
Kevin Sorbo remains busy making a variety movies and guest starring on television shows. My most recent Kevin Sorbo experience was in 2017’s Boone: The Bounty Hunter. Sorbo along with other action entertainment veterans like Lorenzo Lamas and Tiny Lister lent their talents to one of the freshest action flicks I’ve seen in years. Boone comes from the mind of the multi-talented John Hennigan, who not only came up with the concept for the film, but he also starred as the titular character.
In this week’s Scene of the Week, we take a look at the introduction of reality television bounty hunter Boone (John Hennigan) as he busts Kevin Sorbo for some unpaid parking tickets as only Boone can. If you enjoy the scene and want more Boone fun be sure to check out the full movie! You can pick up Boone: The Bounty Hunter on DVD at Wal-Mart or Amazon. Boone is also available on VOD on many of the major streaming providers!
